1000W Off Grid Wind Turbine (Battery Charging)

The FE1000 is an extremely well built and reliable wind turbine, rated at 1000w (and capable of producing in excess of 1400w). When combined with a Xantrex C60 charge controller, batteries and an off-grid inverter, it makes a very effective system for:

  • homes and farms
  • off grid holiday cabins
  • caravans and mobile homes
  • remote monitoring stations

Note: All of our turbines are designed to be installed on standalone towers. We don't sell rooftop turbines as rooftop turbines are ineffective and may damage your home.

Key Features
  • Supplied in two versions: 24v (recommended for off-grid applications) and 48V. Its power curve is here
  • The turbine is mounted on its own tower. Unlike cheaper systems, this gives it a far better chance of catching the available wind.
  • Unlike cheaper turbines, this turbine has a furling tail. This is a very important safety feature as it means that the turbine automatically turns out of the wind during gales that may damage it
  • The turbine has balanced blades. This is extremely rare at this price, but it means that the turbine is far less likely to experience harsh, damaging vibrations at high speeds
  • The recommended charge controller is a Xantrex C60. Xantrex are one of the preeminent brands in charge controller technology and the C60 is guaranteed to get the maximum return from your battery bank. Energy Liberators also supply the appropriate dump loads
  • Extensively tested in high wind areas in Scotland.

A custom made winched up 6 or 8 meter tower costs €1700 (incl VAT)
