Wood pellets are a clean, dry fuel made from a mixture of sawdust and wood shavings. They are a high energy, smoke free fuel. The raw material is pure sawdust from coniferous trees. No additives or binding agents are used in the manufacturing of Kedco Energy wood pellets. The raw material is ground to a fine powder, dried and pressed into short sticks which are known as wood pellets. Wood pellets are an energy rich alternative to oil and firewood, that can be used for the purpose of domestic and commercial heating.
Kedco Energy manufactures its own wood pellets and therefore can guarantee fuel supply all year round.
Technical Data
The energy value per ton of pellets is 4.95MWH.This is equal to 0.49m3 or 490 litres of oil.
Two tonnes of Kedco Energy wood pellets is the equivalent to 1,000 litres of oil. Our wood pellets work out approx 33% cheaper than oil.
Kedco Energy wood pellets are 6mm in diameter.
The ash content from the pellets is less than 0.5%.
The home user gets up to 95% in energy returned in the form of heat due to the specialised combustion chambers used to burn pellets.
Environmental Facts
Only wood from sustainable forests are used in the manufacturing of Kedco Energy pellets.
No binding agents are added.
Wood pellets are carbon neutral .The CO2 released when burning the pellets is equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by the trees during their lifetime.
Correct storage has no negative effect on wood pellets.
Our manufacturing division will produce 100,000 tonnes of pellets each year. This is equivalent, in energy terms, to 50 million litres of oil which is the amount needed to heat 15,000 homes all from a renewable energy source.
